Thought I'd pass this report along from CNN this morning.  CNN reports that it is more important than ever to know the value of your home.  It is not necessary unless you are currently refinancing to pay for an appraisal, but you should be familiar with the sale prices of homes in your neighborhood.  CNN recommended that home owners get to know a local real estate agent who can provide up to date data.
